Is it OK to put essential oils into unscented tealights when the wax is molten?

It’s just easier than using the oil diffusers. Is it safe?
Some different answers I’m getting here, so it would be something like lighting a tealight till the wax melts, then blowing out the flame and dropping the oils onto the surface of the molten wax. The idea is that the aroma will be released the next time the candle is lit…

    1. Nitram says:

no, they will turn into very, very potent carcinogens and you’re likely to get an aggressive form of lung cancer

      NO!!!!

Probably safe. And it WILL NOT cause cancer. But I think the molten wax will trap the healing molecules and keep them from dispersing into the air. I have a dozen books on aromatherapy and never came across this in these reference guides so who really knows?
